Georgia: Small-Town Character Near the State Line

Just across the Georgia line, Choice Homes serves Catoosa, Walker, Dade, and Whitfield counties — a mix of small, close-knit towns like Ringgold, Rossville, LaFayette, and Trenton, most of them a 20-to-35-minute drive from downtown Chattanooga. Walker and Catoosa counties are home to the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, one of the country's largest Civil War battlefield sites, and Lookout Mountain continues across the state line into Walker and Dade counties.

Dalton, in Whitfield County, is the exception to the small-town pattern — a mid-sized city known nationally as the carpet manufacturing capital of the world. Georgia has a flat state income tax (4.99% as of 2026), and homebuyers here typically find a lower cost of entry than on the Tennessee side.
