Collegedale is a small city in southeastern Hamilton County that grew up around Southern Junior College — now Southern Adventist University — which relocated here from Graysville, Tennessee in 1916. The city was incorporated on December 1, 1968.
Collegedale is known for its Seventh-day Adventist community, Southern Adventist University's roughly 1,300-acre campus, and as the world headquarters of McKee Foods Corporation, maker of Little Debbie snacks, which has employed 3,000+ people here since 1956.
