East Ridge is a Hamilton County city incorporated in April 1921, named for its location east of Missionary Ridge. It borders Chattanooga on three sides and Georgia to the south, a genuine Tennessee/Georgia border city sometimes called the 'Gateway to Tennessee.'
The city is home to CHI Memorial Stadium, Tennessee's first soccer-specific stadium, and Camp Jordan Park, a large multi-sport recreation complex. Ringgold Road connects East Ridge directly to Ringgold, Georgia, giving the city a genuinely cross-border feel.
